I just needed some string and ordered this instead. Turns out I needed some oil too. I’ve been playing horn for many years so the fingering chart wasn’t that important to me. I also am very careful with staples and what-not so the staples in the package didn’t bother me either, I just removed them and now I’ve got a handy sealable package to store everything in. I thought the oil was great. I liked the needle. I’ve always used AlCas oil and I really liked the Monster Oil. I liked the little rubber monster finger puppet. I thought it would fit over the lead pipe of my horn. I liked the little pencil too. I think this is a great all around kit to have for a horn player of any age.

Great starter kit for french horn students. Comes with all the stuff they will need to care for their french horn and then some. The kit came in on time and was packaged well. The only CAUTION I have is for parents & kids to remember the plastic or vinyl pouch it comes in is the actual bag one keeps all the stuff in! The company staples the cardboard top on to the bag so BE CAREFUL when opening and "DO NO RIP or CUT the package because you will ruin the pouch that stores all the horn supplies. Carefully remove the staples so the pouch is still usable. Other than that, this kit is an excellent value for the cost!!

Just needed string and grease, but got this whole kit instead for a bargain with a bunch of helpful extras.Good kit. Essential for getting set up initially, and necessary for regular maintenance. Even has educational notes.I like the oil bottle with a needle. Easy for pinpoint application and not sloppy like my other bottle.Big quantities of oil and grease. Quality containers. It's just a good deal.Only complaint is the steel cabled bore snake. Not a fan of putting steel in contact with my brass. However, it's rarely if ever required so that's of little consequence.

It's a good product, just the way it is packaged is dangerous. There are staples that are hidden just underneath the zipper part of the plastic pouch everything comes in. When I went to unzip the pouch, my finger was sliced by one of the hidden staples. I am an adult and I would never allow a child to open this. Good product, unsafe packaging.

Almost everything you need to properly maintain your instrument. It would be nice if a long-term storage option (e.g. faux leather pouch) was included for bringing supplies with to rehearsals and performances. But otherwise nearly perfect, and at a great price.

This little kit is just what I needed. Quick instructions are a great guideline for some basic care. Love the mouth piece brush (trying to use it after every practice session) and the coiled tube brush for more thorough cleaning. The slide grease works way better then the old stuff I had. I think my horn plays better too :-)

My 9yo has decided to take up French horn this year and I'm so excited--I played the flute all through school and loved being in band--but I knew very little about the care and keeping of a French horn. I love that this kit came with everything we needed, and instructions for cleaning and caring for the horn. It is the perfect starter pack. Thanks, Monster!

Got this for my 10yr old who just started band, and is playing a French horn. The kit, combined with a YouTube video, allowed us to competently take apart and fully clean her instrument. It was easy, and fun. She can't wait to take her kit to school and show it off! Plus, the cute design is very nice and makes it so much more fun for her to use.
