Since the secret came out it has transformed me and taken me on such a journey that I would of never have experienced if I never would of prayed one night to GOD asking is this all there is to life and if it isnt can you please show me otherwise and my prayer was answered. The one thing that has helped me so much more is Gratitude it is a very powerful force. And coming from me who has delt with depression for a long time and a very negative mindset, it is the one thing that has helped me out of that. I have been studying the LOA since the Secret came out and everything that it entails, but if you really do the research there are actual scientific studies done of the effects grattitude has on your brain. There are studies being done by Neuroscientists, psychologist and the like, another good book that proves the scientific aspect is Thanks by Robert A. Emmons, Ph.D.he is a proffessor at the university of California and a leading scholar in the feild of Gratitude which is what he has spent most of his life studying and researching. I do not agree with a lot of the one star reveiws saying this is a rehash of the secret it is a step by step action plan that you follow for 28 days to help change your mindset basically like using Neuroplasticiy to rewire your brain to be more grateful and yes I have studied everything I can on that subject as well and for people who give up after a few days it takes time you cant change over night if you are used to being a very pessimistic person your mind needs time to change and the only way you can do that is by practicing it everyday, technically it takes 21 days to form a new habit in the mind if you are doing it consistantly. For me the best practice is writting in my journal everyday about what I am grateful for but also what has gone right for me that day doing that is a great way of formulating well being within yourself you shift your focus from what you normally complain about to what actually went well and now after doing it for awhile it is becoming a habit to see the good now, instead of things to complain about. I dont see those things now, I just feel grateful for so much that I am becoming very mindfull of all the good in my life and seeing all the mundane stuff that I use to complain about is fading away. So Gratitude is magic and very powerful that I even have my kids doing it now, we use a gratitude jar that I made and every day we right down something we are grateful for and put it on a little piece of paper and put it in the jar, and they love it. In a nutshell Gratitude is a great thing to incorporate in your life it has been something magical in mine.

It created magic in my life
It's a simple book and I wasn't initially impressed - but I decided to do the exercises anyway and see if anything happened. I can honestly say I became happier and more enthusiastic about life. Now I get annoyed at myself if I don't write up my gratitude list at the end of the day - because, Its like everything that's worthwhile, you have to do it to get the benefits. This book proved to me that the benefits of being grateful are just as powerfully healing as the more complicated therapies for mental stress. And its so simple to do!
