Kept pond clean!
I installed a small waterfall pond last year. It was my first one I built by not using a plastic pond and waterfall! The system I got had 3 different filters to them and I soon found out that the fact that I live on 20 acres of woods and wildlife, frogs seem to think it was their new home from day one. These filters do need changing more often! Buying it by the roll by Aquatics was a very cost effective way for me! I just copied the shape of the 3 I needed and cut it out and inserted wete they needed to go! It was thick enough to stop all the yucky stuff from going through! But allowed the water to flow freely, I am not sure if this is what they meant when asking sheerness! In my opinion you can't see through it! I live in MI and winter came on hard last year and I forgot to pull them out, this spring when I went to clean they were intact, dirty from use but I just took them out and got rid of them and put new ones in! I will definitely be byeing again!

Gets the very small particles out for clear water
I have a bead filter that does the bulk of the cleaning in my pond. However the bead filter never gave me perfectly clean water. I incorporated a few layers of this material into the outflow of filter system and by the next morning the water was very clear. For a temporary, use it once in a while system, you can get a small pond pump and put it in a short 3 gallon bucket and cut 3-5 circles of this material (with a 1/2 inch hole in each) to lay over the pump at the bottom of the bucket. Take the outflow hose from the pump and run it up through the holes of each filter. Set the bucket somewhere in your waterfalls so it will collect as much or more water than the pump outputs but do not submerge the top of the bucket. Leave it in your pond overnight and it will be clear the next morning.

good stuff
I have 16 gal. tubs wet up on the edge of my pond. Down in the pond I have tetra pumps that pump the water up and over the top of this material and it is just great in catching the nasty fish poop and crap After they just get saturated with a thick as hell layer of the poop, i take the portions that I've cut to fit in there and with a power nozzle on my hose I wash them down, but just great filtering material.

White FINE Filter Pad
Works great. I had green algae water making it impossible to enjoy the 20 or so koi in my pond. I cut this roll into sections and put it in the water box at the top of my water falls. After about a week of running the water (in conjunction with a UV filter), the water is clear enough for me to see the fish! The only sucky part is that I have to rinse it out about once a week to maximize its effectiveness. One of the joys of pond ownership I guess.

Tough, durable and easy to work with.
Well it is a filter pad. What can you really say about it? It works. It is 'tough', easy to clean, versatile (we have used this stuff for a variety of things involving our ponds and water features). Can I actually 'love' a filter pad material? Maybe not, but I AM satisfied with this product. It works as advertised and the people behind the product obviously care about the consumer being happy with their product. So 5 stars it is!

I finally have crystal clear water!!!
Ordered the fine & coarse filter pads to replace original set that came w/ filter. Over time, pads compress, even after they've been cleaned out. Wrote to the manufacturer & was told filters can still be used but may get clogged sooner. Since I have an older set now, I have doubled up and put another layer of the fine filter inside of the unit. So far, it seems to be working out great. Water remains crystal clear. Use sharp scissors to cut the pads (poultry shears work well). I suppose a utility knife would work also, but I haven't tried that yet.

Great so far
I have a small 1000 gal koi pond. Living in N.Central FL can be challenging. Leaves and debris a little later than North of us. But we do have freezes from time to time. These filters have cleared up my pond considerably after just over a month of use. Pleased with this filter!

This material is very very fine and thicker than most other rolled filter material.
This material is very very fine and thicker than most other rolled filter material. I use it when needed for my Koi pond. If the water gets a little cloudy, I put filter material in the skimmer for a day and the water gets clear fast. It plugs up too quick to use permanently, at least in my situation.
