I have to admit that when my Ice Maker wasn't working properly, replacement of the optical eye unit was a bit of a guess. Since the optical eye receiving unit has an electronic relay switch in iet, I figured this was the problem in my 20 + year old fridge. I replaced the optical eye unit with this new one and the ice maker immediately began making ice. Turns out this was exactly what I needed. Glad they are still available and at a reasonable price.

installed both boards ..open freezer door sensor blinks as it should , then I proceed to close emitter flap and get a solid red light which means its operating correctly .No water flowing to ice maker no ice being produced. Could the ice maker be the issue now ? ( it wasn't with previous board replacement)

This unit replacement my failed Kenmore ice maker. It fit perfectly into the space and worked right away. One hint, connect the wires first then fit the circuit cards into position.

Diagnosed problem as likely sensor. Have replaced once before. Received promptly, installed and works fine.

Great value compared to OEM part which costs 6x as much.

Refrigerator ice maker repair

This set of boards was an exact replacement for the original OEM in my Kitchenaid refrigerator. I've seen current prices at online parts suppliers ranging from $350 to over $400 as of 1/3/23. They were not all OEM parts. The installation was straight forward, but I'm my case there was a slight hiccup. I had the fridge disconnected from power while doing the removal, and install. After installing, I powered it up, and still had the 2 flashing L.E.D. code. I unplugged again for 30 seconds, and reconnected. My icemaker has been working normally for the last 36 hours! The initial problem with the OEM boards were also their demise. For some reason too much water was metered during a cycle. This water also entered the board compartment on the right side, which froze, and caused a stoppage of ice making, along with more ice down the right side. I cleared all of it and got 2 cycles b4 they died. I think these will outlast the fridge.

This is the second unit I have bought. The first was a brand $10 cheaper. It lasted 2 years. This one is supposed to last longer as the manufacturer claims it’s more durable. We will see.

it is suppose to be compatible with W10757981...I ordered twice and both do not work...it was shipped in a padded envelope both time....come on now, it's circuit boards....needs protection or the manufacturer is lying
