I have used this edging tool for many gardening projects over the years and when the handle broke trying to edge a new flower bed with lots of rocks, I was crushed. But when I found the exact replacement from the same company on Amazon, I was thrilled and ordered it immediately. So happy to have found another one after 20+ years with my other one.

Product is not doing what i expected. It does not dig into the soil to make an edge (may be they need to make bigger/heavier). I have all kind of tools and i purchased this product to make my life easire (that's what i saw in youtube video) with edging but no luck.Sharper edge may make the difference but it has to be heavier.

My husband uses this to pick walnuts up in our yard. He used it a few times and it broke. It's broken in a place that is completely unfixable

While I didn't purchase the item from Amazon, I did purchase it from Home Depot.First time I used it, no problems. Second week, it bent - of course, you can bend it back to where it was but in my experience once metal starts bending, it's going to snap at some point. Third week, this thing is bending back and forth like a slinky. It was cheap enough that I'm not crying over it but it's well on its way to the trash.

I purchased the Vigoro edger for use as a second half-moon edger. I have owned another brand (unknown mfg) for years.This product broke in the first season. Unable to get vigoro to honor their 25 year "limited" warranty. Look elsewhere for a half-moon edger

I am a homeowner and purchased the Ames / Vigoro half-moon edger (model #70228) for use in the garden. Upon first use, the tang (the metal extension that connects the blade to the wooden handle) folded over at a right-angle. Clearly the tang had not been properly heat treated after the blade had been formed - sadly the entire blade is just a rough casting rather a blade (in any sense of that word). I contacted Ames / Vigoro as the handle displays a label stating that there is a 25-year warranty in place. I got a run-around, then a promise to send a replacement, then nothing by way of a replacement and now silence from Ames / Vigoro. I strongly suggest that if you are looking for an edger of this type, that you don't get burned like I did and look at other manufacturers (preferably one that is still built by American workers).
