I got this to store cat food. One of our cats is allergic to plastic so I had to find an alternative container. This works great! It holds a whole large bag of food with room to spare. I use the scoop to fill the bowls. The lid fits well and it’s nice looking. Since I’m using it inside, I can’t comment on rust resistance but it seems pretty durable and will last a long time.

I've been using this for a couple of years now. Just today I was using the shovel to stir/sift the embers and ashes in the fireplace, and the shovel caught fire! It seems to have a heat resistant coating that is now partially melted. For context, the fire was extremely hot. It's probably my fault for not using the cast iron fire poker instead, but I thought others might want to be aware of this so they don't make the same mistake. Fire resistant does not equal fireproof! That said, I love the simple design and wood handle on the bucket. The pocket on the side of the bucket for the shovel keeps everything together, and it doubles as a second handle while dumping the ashes out.

This is a nice, well-made bucket that also has an attached small hand scoop. I bought this for my cabin and I find it a lot more handy than using the ash dump. Would recommend.

works great and reduces the trips to ash dump pile around my tree. I found that even after 12+ hours from the time the fire burns out there are still embers so the metal bucket is great for staging the ashes in while I build my next fire.
