This is the best basic soap! My husband has sensitive skin and he will not use anything else.

A friend recommended this Amish soap and I now know why. It is pure and has a lightly creamy consistency that means it is actually delightful to use. I prefer the non-scented variety but the scented bars are lovely too. They last a long time and don't get gooey if you let them sit on a plastic soap saver that has soft prongs to let the soap bar dry between uses. Best soap I have ever used and at a very decent price so I keep a stash well-stocked. And, it is very gentle to the skin. Claus Porto is too but at almost $40 for a large bar I am happy with the Amish product which is just as lovely/gentle etc. Store soaps are a thing of the past - never to return.

I'm a refugee from Ivory soap (many years) and Dove sensitive (about one year). I don't want personal soap with pervasive scents or titanium dioxide, which is basically a more indestructible and therefore biology-incompatible version of sand. IMHO, some time ago Ivory started scenting its soaps differently after many years, in a way that bothered me enough to drop the brand.So I tried this and am happy with it so far. The one-star deduction is due to the size of the bars, which is inconvenient for my smaller hands.But I've got some first-class Amish furniture and am happy to have a product made by people for whom tradition is paramount. Over-the-top marketers seem to be putting pervasive scents, with a base that reminds me of insecticides, in virtually everything these days, and I'm glad not to have them in my soap.

Seems to be a very soft white soap easy on the skin

I have been using this soap exclusively for the past year. I have purchased the bags 3 times so far. The soap just gets you clean. The bars are big. You can get it in a light wildflower - scent or fragrance - free. It has a good lather and has very few ingredients in it. I have used it on my hair as well. Shampoo bars are a big thing right now, but they are expensive. I took an empty from the soap bag with the ingredients list on it to my hair dresser. She said it looked fine to use on hair. If your hair is color-treated the main thing to look at is the salts in a product. I have highlights and I use it, no problem. The list of ingredients even on salon products can be long, so that doesn't mean that they are always the best for your hair. I just turned 60 and my skin is clear all over my body. I would suggest buying the soap holder bags here on Amazon to put the soap in while using. They give the soap an exfoliating bonus! No complaints here!
