Q: Hi, looking at purchasing this hive, I believe that I need dual receiver, as have hot water tank. Does this one come with single or dual receiver?

This has a single receiver. It controls my central heating boiler

Q: Do you need a permanent 240v supply or will it work of battery’s

It’s battery for the thermostat, you can take it anywhere in the house and therefore it sets the temperature in the rest of the house based on that room, you need a professional to connect it to your gas boiler, and set up happened even though I didn’t know it had fully connected, which was frustrating, but once working it is a fabulous piece of kit, very easy to use and you can set the temp on your phone from anywhere, it has saved me a fortune because I no longer use timers and waste heating an empty house

Q: how long do the batteries in the thermostat typically last and are they rechargeable? Thanks for your help :)

It’s a bit of a lottery - if you look at websites people say that their batteries suddenly start draining for no reason and replacing them with rechargeable or “ normal” makes no difference. This is what happened to me. No change in my process or batteries used and started into this cycle Purchased a refurb model and have had no issues to date with this one

Yes it should do the new hub just wires into youbold wall socket which should have multiple connection points to use you or the engineer just have to Google which ones you use
