This is my first time doing the oil change myself and I think it is pretty well designed if you need to screw it with your hand and feel how just about right the twist is to bring to a good stop.

After doing a lot of research and actual use, I have found these filters to be the best value when you combine their performance with their cost. The analysis is based on the frequent oil changes (4k-5k miles) I make on my little Subaru cars (Ascent and Outback). I highly recommend them.

Ive used this filter atleast 2 or 3 times on my car now and its been perfect. Super easy to use and the grip on the bottom makes it so much easier to remove and install.
