The first time I installed this I put it on the window frame, and while that definitely helped with the cold air from the 4 large old windows along the front of our home, I could still feel a draft. I soon determined that was because the "frame" was an old metal decorative frame, not what one would traditionally be thought I'd as a window frame, and not something I could easily replace or seal. So, I removed the plastic and redid it (with new plastic as I needed it to be wider). It was a little more difficult to get it tight enough that heat application would make it pretty much invisible again, with just a little more effort than the first time around, it came out perfect. This makes a big difference in the warmth of our living room. We have an old home with old single pane windows, so this solution is not 100% blocking. You can still feel that the plastic is cold to the touch, but there are zero drafts. Adding pleated shades (thermal blackout curtains would work too) is the final piece that keeps those ancient windows from driving up our winter heating costs. These were easy to install, just follow the directions and they go on just as stated. The only mistake I made was not pulling the plastic tight enough on the first window. I was concerned about tearing the plastic, but I was worrying for nothing. I pulled it plenty tight on the next 3 windows and there little to no wrinkles. Once heat was applied it tightened the rest of the way to become essentially invisible. I would highly recommend this product.

Using intense concentration & some effort I finally have my bedroom window draft free and attractive appearing. I cut double sided tape into 4" strips separate backing at both ends 1/2 inch like pre-fabrication and apply to top of window trim with a reacher later removing tape backing as I pull over the shrink film & pat down onto the sticky tape 4 inch strip then repeat all the way around!

I bought two of these and was able to fit this on 3 windows that are 36in wide and 82inch tall with additional to cover a window that is 36in wide and 72in tall- and still with some extra! however, we did run out of tape halfway through the last window

I am very pleased with this product. I admit to procrastinating buying it until it was already cold an average of 40F or lower outside, and so I was worried that it would not stick well. Our house is built out of cinder blocks and has absolutely no insulation. We have large VERY drafty windows that are all irregular sizes.I bought two packs of this and was able to cover two large windows in the living room (~5'x4' and 6'x5') and one 4'x4' bedroom window, before I ran out of double sided tape. However, there was still plenty of film left so I used gorilla tape and was able to cover another 4'x5' window and another 4'x4' window. I had large enough pieces left over that I could have covered more windows but we didn't need it.It has made a huge difference in the temperature of the house already. It was necessary to leave some flexibility to cover the window crank handles without seeming like it would poke a hole in the film so I did not smooth the film with a blow dryer as directed. It is still very clear and it was easy to apply smoothly over the top half of the windows. I did not peel pack all the tape until I was ready to apply the film.It has been a week of subfreezing temperatures now and the film has not come off. It did not seem like it was sticking at first but after taking off the back, both sides of the tape were more flexible and stuck to the uneven cinder block surface and have stayed.I heated up the walls with a space heater before applying the tape in the living room. I just set the space heater to blow on the wall for about 5 minutes beforehand. This may have helped adhesion, though it did not warm the walls very much.The gorilla tape may be a horrible idea; we will see in the spring. So, I don't recommend that to anyone else right now. I recommend that you buy an extra roll of window tape if you plan to use all of the film that comes in one or more of these packages.

These thing can get expensive. Best price I found so far. They do a great job keeping the draft out of the house. Lifesaver. Tape is very strong. Does minimal damage to paint. Durable never had an issue with peeling. Very clear once you blow dry it.

Two of my three boxes came without tape, I contacted their support so I will update if they respond. But the two windows I was able to do sealed great and improved the room temps a lot.

I can’t even tell you how awesome this plastic is. It definitely goes on better with 2 people, but you can do it yourself. My suggestion is to not take all of the double sided tape off all at once. Start at the top, do a side, do the second side next, pulling snug, then do the bottom. The paper is hard to get started to peel it off the tape, but with a little patience you’ll catch a spot to pull it away. Here’s the biggest suggestion. Use the hairdryer on as hot ad it goes. Medium heat does not work. Start at the top and work your way down. It is absolutely amazing to watch this stuff work. When you are finished you seriously can’t tell there is plastic on the window. Wish I had more windows to do, it was so satisfying to watch it do its magic
