Smith Performance Sprayers 182675 Viton Pump Service Kit for 2 and 3 Gallon Poly Sprayer

I almost purchased a brass or stainless steel sprayer because I wanted something that could be serviced. That is what pest control specialists use and its for that reason (the ability to be serviced) that you pay a premium for the sprayer. I bought this sprayer branded as Husqvarna (Smith is the private label manufacturer for Husqvarna branded sprayers) from a local home improvement store. They had nozzle rebuild kits on the shelf next to the sprayers so I hoped I would also be able to rebuild the pumps. My hope was correct. My pump stopped pumping air into the pressure vessel and instead was allowing liquid out. First I located a replacement pump, then i found the rebuild kit. I ordered the rebuild kit on a whim and about a week later Amazon delivered my 2 day package to me. Honestly it took longer to get the amazon box open than it did to put the rebuild kit in. I cleaned the inside of the pump out with some dish soap and replaced the air pump plunger and one way valve on the bottom of the pump and the sealing ring around the top and voila good as new. Sure the rebuild kit is a little pricey, but its cheaper than a new sprayer, and cheaper than a new pump assembly. Ultimately I'm satisfied with the kit and I purchased another one to keep on standby for when this set of seals wears out. Seals are consumables and I'm happy I didn't have to go to a metal sprayer to find something that is serviceable. I am a homeowner and I use this to apply a plant based insecticide. I don't know how this would hold up under professional usage, but for home owner usage it does just fine. Just be sure to rinse off the pump between uses and dont leave it suspended in solutions that will degrade the seals and you will get great life out of your sprayer.
