Q: Is this small or does it do a decent amount of food ?

There's four of us here- adults and it does enough, its a great size and does a decent amount... even for us greedy guts!

Q: can you put corn in it?

From page 5 of the instruction leaflet, "Cooking pot is compatible with most hobs, except induction. So I would say the answer to your question is NO.
